A group for fans of British Comics

Excuse me, I only just noticed there was actually an area for webcomics on here.

So, yeah, I do one! Thumpculture, my ongoing kung fu rom-com soap opera slice-of-life webcomic, is currently a few pages into its second 'issue'. It can be read from the very start start here, you can jump in at the start of the second issue here, or you can simply read the latest page every week at www.thumpculture.com.

I update every Friday, I'd love to do so more often but it takes me aaaages to do a page, and what with actual proper wok and stuff I really can't spend any more time on it as I do, as it's a bit of a labour-of-love.

Anyway, I'd love to hear any comments / questions / feedback, and hope you enjoy the strip!

Ta,
Neill

You've some fine artwork there. I'm also got a webcomic going . A different graphic style to your own but that's the beauty of webcomics - diversity.

Should have spotted this earlier. I thoroughly recommend Thumpculture. Neill, things are frantic right now but I haven't forgotten about our ROK chat on TC, hope to get something moving on that soon(ish)

Thumpculture is a cracking good read, Neill! Your artwork's come on in leaps and bounds over the years (not that it was bad to start off with. I still have a soft spot for Alf and Jobbo!).

Your Thumpculture strip is in part responsible for my renewed enthusiasm in the comics industry (along with folk like John Freeman, Neil Alexander and so fourth pulling me back into its murky depths) so many thanks for that.

The first comic reads very well and has a great range of characters - some brilliant colouring too. Hopefully we'll see it picked up by a comics publisher at some point in the future (or as a rokcomics cartoon, by the sounds of things. Join the http://www.rokcomics.ning.com site if you get the time - there's a lot of fantastic cartoonists hanging out over there at the moment).

Nice work with the Shakespeare stuff. I keep meaning to pick up a copy every time I see it in Borders in Brighton. Will let you know what I think when I finally bag an issue (though I still think giant cyber-ninja-death-robots would've made a cool addition...y'know, like Shakespeare originally envisioned - except he was on a shoe-string budget, of course).

Look forward to seeing your output in DFC when it launches.

Hey Dave,

Thanks for the kind words. You will be one of about 4 people in the world remotely excited to hear that I am currently, as we speak, drawing the dramatic return of Jobo and Alf in a brand new strip! To appear in, like, a proper comic, and everything. Full colour! It's going to be quite substantially awesome, and I look forward to telling you all about it when it gets nearer the time...

Fantastic news Neill! And, even better news, this means that one day my collection of Dumbass comics might be worth something! Awesome!

Seriously though, it's great to hear Alf and Jobo will be making a triumphant return - in a proper comic, no less. Best of luck with your continued dabbling in the art of world domination!

Very, very unlikely ;)

Well I'm not throwing them away like I did with my Warren Ellis fanzines...
