Heya Jim. Got your new email address alright. I'll send you the scripts again later (might as well send you the first 10, so you have series 1 all together). First I'm going to look over the scripts and see if there's any final touches I can make to them.

Sounds like you've got the same deal going with your computers as I have. Once I get round to it, I plan on just using the laptop for internet, and my other computer for art related stuff. That way the art computer's less likely to get bogged down with virus killers and viruses (although they can still be transfered from computer to computer by memory stick or CD, so it's worth doing a virus scan on your art computer from time to time, and backing stuff up each month)

Just remembered - another way of getting at your files would probably be to start windows in safe mode (thus bypassing any problems it may be encountering, though reducing windows functionality). To do this turn your computer on and press F8 as it's booting up. This should take you to the safe mode selection screen. With any luck you'll be able to locate your files when the computer's loaded.

Usually when you do a system restore it leaves stuff like artwork, doc files etc intact so it seems strange that you can't find any of them. Can you still get to the start menu to check the C drive from there? If so, you might be able to get to them that way (there's also a 'search' option in the menu which may help you find the files you're looking for).

If you can still get to the system restore option, you may also be able to restore the computer to the point before you did the original restore (though if your files were missing before then, this'd probably be pointless).

There may also be a way of locating and copying your missing files from DOS, but I'm not knowledgable enough to know how to do that (otherwise I'd have done it with my own computer, which died and took loads of my old comics with it). In future, a good idea is to back up everything to a CD/DVD (good quality, not cheap ones) each month, and also store duplicates on a Back-up Drive.

Hope some of this might be of help.
