Loved my visit to France recently (my first - not before time), despite torrential rain and severe flooding in places! A couple of things impressed me - firstly the ready availability of Bandes Desinées albums in all bookshops and supermarkets - OK, a pretty limited selection in the latter, comprising gag strips/Asterix etc. with some of the more popular fantasy series, but still... I'd love to see a selection of hardback comic strip albums in Asda when I go shopping!

I've managed to keep my sketch blog going since Bristol - it's really made me question what I like to draw and made me realise where my many weaknesses lie! I've been trying to do a sketch of Wonder Woman and just can't get that heroic, noble feel I want. Give me an ugly monster to draw any day. Sketches can be seen at

The first volume is called "Yakari and Great Eagle" - I think there are six volumes available in translat…

I've just finished a few spot illos for the next Dogbreath fanzine (#18, I think), to go with a text story - should be out for the Bristol show. I've also written a seven page strip for them with a couple of new characters, which I'd like to draw up if time allows.
